EEU Orientation

Message from the EEU Principal

The EEU is not a typical school or early childhood program. While the primary responsibility of the staff at the EEU is to provide excellent services to children and families, we are also charged with supporting the training of future teachers, and research, which will serve as the foundation for best practice in the field of special education.

The three-fold mission at the EEU also means that each of you is a part of something greater than the school. As a member of the EEU community, you help make it possible for professional development and training to prepare future generations of educators. You help ensure that researchers will identify the best methods to shape the classrooms in the broader community. You are all a part of the community that helps foster inclusion and a sense of membership.

Inclusion isn’t easy. It requires ongoing and active participation of children, families, and staff who believe that true membership and friendships are essential to a strong community.

Before you begin your experience at the EEU. I want to share our Action Statement. We created this action statement as a staff to translate our shared commitment and passion into words that we could put into action on a daily basis when working with children, families, and each other.

The EEU Staff is committed to creating a more inclusive world by being lifelong learners, celebrating diversity, focusing on children and their families, and bringing joy to our community.

This is our commitment. This is our passion. This is what we as a staff want for the EEU each and every day.

I want to thank you all for being a part of the EEU community and I look forward to an amazing year.
